  • Dr. Pradip Chakrabarti is one of the few surgeons who specialize in surgery for Renal Hyperparathyroidism, which cannot be treated with pharmacological therapy. He does autotransplantation and total parathyroidectomy in these circumstances.

  • He received his medical degree from the University of Calcutta. He completed a general surgery residency at Prince Charles Hospital in Wales, where he was named a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. 
  • After completing a residency in renal and pancreatic transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh (USA), he became an attending consultant surgeon and an instructor in surgery, joining the faculty.
  • With such a stellar career of around half a century, he has received many awards, namely the Medal of Honor from Calcutta Medical College.
